The opening of the spa season is traditionally a May cultural and social event.
The spa season will be inaugurated in Mariánské Lázně a city in Western Bohemia. The opening includes an age-old custom of blessing the springs. Part of the celebration is also a festive concert, a mass, a craft fair, a charity golf and tennis tournament, birds of prey flight demonstrations as well as concerts. The program takes place at the Colonnade, in the space of Arnika and in the spa park.
This year’s festival will take place on 10 – 12 May 2019 at the Mariánské Lázně Colonnade and in its vicinity.
Although the program will begin on Friday 10 May at 2 pm at the colonnade, the official opening will be the Gala Concert of the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra, which will take place at 7.30 pm at Social House Casino. The program will include tracks: J.S. Bach, A. Vivaldi, J. Strauss, P. de Sarasat, C. Saint-Saens. The violin soloists will include Václav Hudeček, Jiří Vodička and Marie Hasoňová. The orchestra will perform under the baton of the conductor Mr. Martin Peschík.
You can enjoy the orchestra playing concerts symphonies for the opening season and local rock stars with funk and pop music but also dance studios that will draft you into cheerful dancing.
Also there will be many activities by our small friends with their teachers and a lot of singing.
